Resources and Guidance

As a part of my consultative work, I am asked to provide guidance to teachers across Canada about how they  can respectfully and authentically include Métis perspectives as they teach curriculum expectations and outcomes. As a rule of thumb, teachers are asked to teach Canada's history, not our cultures. Leave that to us and invite us in your spaces to do this work in a good way. As a key consideration, authentic community member and vulnerable sector checking are imperative to do. To do this, work alongside your school board's Indigenous Education Team, they are here to support you.

 Living Michif Curriculum Resource Toolkit

The document reflects personal and professional sentiments and views that are my own. The guide will be updated frequently (hence living) based on finding new and authentic resources that are important to include.

If you are doing this work alone, you are doing it wrong.
